    Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between pixelate and blur?

Pixelation creates a mosaic effect by averaging colors in blocks. Gaussian blur smoothly blends the area into an unrecognizable softness. Both effectively hide content — pixelation looks more 'digital', blur looks more natural.

Can I blur multiple areas in one image?

Yes! Draw as many rectangles as you need. Each area is processed independently, and you can undo the last selection if you make a mistake.

Does the blur show up in the downloaded image?

Yes. The blur/pixelation is permanently applied to the downloaded image. The original is never modified — only the export contains the redaction.

Does it work on mobile devices?

Yes! The tool supports both mouse and touch input. Draw rectangles with your finger on phones and tablets.

Is the Blur & Redact tool free?
