    8 Independent Analysis Signals

Each signal is computed independently and weighted based on metadata availability. No single check dominates the score.

    New in v2

    Noise Channel Correlation

Measures how R/G/B noise channels correlate — real sensors produce moderate, natural cross-channel noise that AI generators miss.

    New in v2

    High-Frequency Energy

Laplacian-based texture analysis detects whether fine detail complexity matches real-world photos or synthetic smoothness.

    Local Detail Variance

Patch-based variance analysis across 9 image regions reveals unnaturally uniform surfaces typical of diffusion models.

    8×8 Compression Grid

Measures block-boundary regularity to detect synthetic compression patterns absent in natural JPEG artifacts.

    New in v2

    EXIF Consistency Bonus

When camera model, GPS, and timestamp are all present and consistent, the score is actively reduced — rewarding authentic metadata.

    Color Distribution Entropy

Analyzes the spread of color values across the histogram. AI images tend toward narrow, uniform distributions.

    How AI Detection Works

    01

    Upload your image

Drag & drop any JPEG, PNG, WebP, or TIFF file. The image stays in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

    02

    Metadata extraction

EXIF data is parsed for camera make/model, GPS coordinates, timestamps, and AI software signatures from 25+ generators.

    03

    Pixel-level analysis

The v2 engine runs 6 pixel analyses: noise consistency, channel correlation, high-frequency energy, patch variance, compression grid, and color entropy.

    04

    Weighted scoring

Metadata and pixel signals are combined with adaptive weighting. When EXIF is missing, pixel analysis carries more weight automatically.

    05

    Result & breakdown

You get a 0–100 score with a detailed breakdown of every indicator, so you can judge each signal individually.

100% Private — Zero Data Collection

Every analysis step runs entirely in your browser using Canvas API and JavaScript math operations. No pixels, no metadata, no thumbnails ever leave your device. There is no server, no API call, and no telemetry. We literally cannot see what you upload.

Find Where Any Photo Was Taken

Our AI Location Search analyzes architecture, signs, vegetation, and landscape clues to pinpoint photo locations worldwide — no GPS data needed.

Free account required. Includes 2 free analyses per month.

    AI Detector FAQ

How does the AI detector work?

It analyzes 8 independent signals: EXIF metadata, camera identification, AI software signatures, typical AI dimensions, noise consistency, noise channel correlation, high-frequency energy, and color entropy.

    Is this AI detector accurate?

This is a heuristic tool, not forensic proof. The v2 engine is calibrated to minimize false positives on metadata-stripped photos while catching synthetic patterns from 25+ AI generators.

Which AI tools can it detect?

It checks for software tags from Midjourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, Adobe Firefly, Leonardo AI, Flux, ComfyUI, and 20+ more. Pixel analysis also catches images from unknown generators.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. All analysis runs 100% in your browser using JavaScript and Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.

    What's new in v2?

Three new signals: noise channel correlation (R/G/B cross-channel patterns), high-frequency energy (Laplacian texture analysis), and EXIF consistency bonus (rewarding authentic metadata). Scoring weights have been rebalanced.

Can I use this to verify photos for journalism?

Yes — as one signal among many. Combine it with reverse image search, EXIF analysis, and contextual verification for a complete workflow.
